Travel Often… Your World WILL Change!

Something that I’ve done when I was younger, fell off the radar for a bit, and within the past five years began doing it more often, and I love it!

I try to tell the younger people (thankfully only a few listened), don’t be so quick to wanna court somebody. Get to know yourself as an individual first, get yourself in line with the real world first, get yourself together physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, and for those who believe in a higher power, spiritually!

Travel, see the country, get a passport, visit other countries, observe new things, get to know other people.

I’ve traveled more times in a year than I have in a decade. I don’t plan on stoppin’ anytime soon!

The beauty of travel-expense notwithstanding-is that despite how taxing and on occasion, even daunting, is that when you finally come home, your view of things changes!

I didn’t realise that until I’ve gotten a little older because I’ve only traveled within the Midwest region, but when I’ve expanded my travels to the Deep South, that all changed. When I traveled to the Mid South/Mid Atlantic region, that all changed, when I’ve obtained my passport in 2016, and made my first international travel to Panama a year later, it was go time then!

I think you get the gist of this by now.

And twice this past year my wife and I vacationed on the West Coast/Southwest (Vegas, L.A., San Diego, Bakersfield, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson, Grand Canyon,Tusayan, Verde River, The Four Corners Monument, the list continues for quite some time).

Again, I speak to the young people as well as the old, travel now, travel often. Your view of things will change!

Money shouldn’t be too much of an issue of you have some connections, if you know some people who can get you lodging for little or nothing, jump on it!

Only a complete idiot would turn down free legitimate lodging (I know a few, unfortunately).

One last note for those who wish to travel but lack the means to do so: If you want bad enough, you’ll make a way for it, if not, you’ll make excuses! I can say that because I’ve been there and done that.

I’ll take the former over the latter any day of the week!

2018-A Year in Review

So much has happened this past year, the best I can do is share a few pics of the last twelve months…

Opening in 2018 as my time with DDOT was winding down…

Took my wife to her very first Auto Show… She loved it to say the least.

Helped celebrate Hertz’s 100 years in business..

Tried out a new Spirit, and boy, it moved me big time!

Visited the Outer Banks (OBX)…

Attended my niece’s graduation…

Our family tradition, Octoberfest…

Visited Metamora, IN…

Took the missus to her very first bonfire…

Went to Vegas…

Rented a ‘Stang for the missus as an anniversary present. And she drove it, too!

Met Albert Einstein…

Ate at an In-N-Out, and cruised on the historic Rodeo Drive…

Got a nice pano shot of Detroit…

Received a 5 Euro gratuity during my stay with Hertz…

Received a Good Driving Award courtesy of Trinity Transportation…

My late mother-in-law’s cat, Min-Yu…

Some shootin’ downtown…

And that’s it! We saw Aquaman tonight. I didn’t think I was gonna like it, but it rocked! Especially in 3D.

Cajun Burger!

Those who know me know that I love a big, juicy burger! I’ve had ’em medium rare, medium well, well done, burnt, crispy, as long as it wasn’t raw, I was good. My wife and I was at a gathering at a suburban restaurant not too far from where we stay at.

Originally some of us in the congregation was gonna hit a Japanese buffet in Clinton Township, MI, and The Milestone Grill in Eastpointe, MI was the next big thing!

I’m glad it happened. Now let us get to the “vittles”!

I do not remember the last time I had a Blue Moon! It’s been a minute or so. And for the record, Blue Moon always tastes better from the tap! Period.

You can not go wrong with Spinach-Artichoke Dip, you just can’t! I used to make this from scratch years ago. Despite my rustiness, it’s pretty simple to make. Next to the iconic mozzarella cheese sticks, “SpinArt” w/ chips is one of the best American appetizers out there!

And now, ladies and gents, the moment you’ve all been waiting for! Drumroll please…

The Cajun Burger! Thick, juicy, succulent, as Jimmy Buffett would call it; “a sensuous treat” in his iconic song “Cheeseburger in Paradise”. This baby here is a half-pound Certified Angus Beef patty seasoned with Cajun spices, lettuce, tomato, onion (I had ’em hold the onion), cheddar cheese, medium well, and mayo.

This baby was so huge, it took well over a good ten minutes to consume.

And what’s shocking to me was that I still had some fries left over, and I still had some Blue Moon leftover.

All in all, I had a good time. I’d eat here again.

And the service is off the hook, too!

Los Angeles, CA!

More to come, spent most of my time in Bakersfield with the missus and got to meet some fellow instagrammers for the first time since we’ve followed one another.

We plan to be in the City of Angels tomorrow. Smog and everything!

Where ALL The Magic Happens…

So if anyone has been wondering where all these nice pics have been coming from, my trusty iPhone has been working wonders for me since I’ve bought it last year. So I will continue to do my monochrome series, blog about my adventures, things that interest me as well as disinterest me. Been very hit and miss with a lot of things, but I plan to catch up soon.

More to come, much more!

Summer’s Ended

Closing up shop for the winter season. Eventually the wife and I will have our patio set up the way mom had hers. Even when no one’s present, this summer setup always accentuates the house’s value as it does the rest of the units in our subdivision.

Hopefully I will remember to make a pitcher of lemonade from scratch. I can still do that today, but nothing like it during the summer months. That alone is an accentuation in itself!

Who knows? I may even post it during the fall season seeing that we’re 1/3 into it so far.

You never can tell.

(Nothing Like…) The Open Road!

Somewhere in Rural Ohio from Cincinnati to Detroit.

The clear blue skies,

The bright white clouds,

The purest greenery on the surface.

Further proof that our planet has a creator.

The True God, Jehovah.

Enough said.
