I’ve learned that…

Honesty isn’t always the best policy

Facebook (as well as any other social networking site) can be either very effective, or very dangerous-or it can be your friend, or it could be your enemy-it’s how you use it

Thinking (analytically or critical) takes you a long way in life

If no one wants to hear your complaints, and you don’t wanna hear yours either, then that’s telling you something right there

There is no reason, excuse or tolerance of ignorance

Ignorance is oftentimes the predecessor of poor judgment

Sometimes it’s better to let people find out things on their own

Everything under the sun has its appointed times

Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body-both are gifts from God, so use ‘em, and do so with the greatest care possible

Sometimes being peaceable with all men may mean having to keep a long-if not permanent-distance from someone who got on nerves that you didn’t know you had

The comfort zone is the great enemy-next to Satan

In order for things to change, you have to change

Everything in life happens for a reason (that’s just the way things are)

Whatever obstacle that impedes one’s path, or anything that causes stumbling, this too, shall pass

If we really want something in life, and we pray for it, more than once is one way to prove that you are serious about it. And if you haven’t received it, it’s for two reasons: 1) your motives aren’t pure, and 2) it may not be the right time for you to have them

A second opinion always helps-go for a third one-the majority rule has the last word anyway

They say that “idle hands are the Devil’s workshop”, an idle mind is just as bad

Do all that your hand finds to do

Make the most of your existence, cause you don’t know when your time’s comin’

Don’t revolve your life around another life that’s been spent

As selfish as it may sound to some, you have to attend to you first before you can attend to others

NEVER allow someone to be your priority when you are only their option

If you found that someone that you’re compatible with, hold onto that person no matter what-it may take years to find another one just like her/him

Remember the past. Remember it as a reminder of the troubles, trials, and tribulations that you’ve gone through, but never allow it to slow down any further progress that you’ve made since then. And remember the past not to hold a grudge, but keep it in mind to make the necessary detours to avoid any repetitions of the pain and grief you went through previously

The toes that you step on today may be connected to the ___ you’ll be kissing tomorrow

You have one thing in your favor as a human being. Your ability to reason and your common sense. If you don’t know the difference between a dip of horse(manure) and a dip of vanilla ice cream, you’ll never make it

Try to read something everyday

It’s just a matter of time before things change for better or worse

Never stop learning-the mind was created to grow

The heart is treacherous and desperate-only God knows it

If one controls his mind, the mind in turn can control the heart (so they say)

The condition of this system of things that we currently live in was not the way God had planned it

Moderation is a must in all things

Sooner or later, a bad habit will cease

No matter how bad a situation is/was, it could always be worse

Knowledge is a must

Knowledge is KING

Knowledge is POWER

The mind is a very powerful weapon-it’s how you use it

The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, and ignorance my deride it, but in the end there it is.

Cash in on your God-given talents, that’s gonna support you big time one day

Use your resources wisely

Pick your spots carefully (I’m still learning this one)

Feed your faith and doubt will starve to death

Humility goes a long way

Part II

Trust in God and put him first, and whatever the situation is, He will see you through it

Whatever’s entertained in the mind, write it down and act it out

Self-importance as well as self-interest is good if used in a positive way

Having faith is like a good disease, it’s contagious-hang around people that have it, and you’ll catch it!

Gossip is like pride-it hurts-avoid it at all costs!

The measure of a man/woman is judged by the content of (their) character.

Control your thoughts and you can control your emotions

Power of reason and common sense are both one and the same thing

Live life on life’s terms-we’re just guests on this planet

If someone comes at you within five feet, that’s a violation of personal space. At that point, anything goes!

The older I get, some things I just have to let go of (again live life on life’s terms)

One thing constant in the system of things is change

If one does not change, adjust, improvise or adapt, that person will become obsolete like a fashion that’s gone outta style!

Overthinking things will stress the “H” out of you (I’m guilty of that one)

The only thing I can change is me. If I can do that, I can change the world around me

Sometimes relaxation and doing nothing is a good way of recharging your batteries

Game recognize game (google that one)

Stay ahead of your game, and no one will catch up with you because you’re so far ahead of ‘em

Imagination of one of God’s best creations given to man

We shouldn’t judge others by their past-they don’t live there anymore-besides, those of us who judge have dark secrets that are just as bad, if not worse

Speak when spoken to

One’s hypocrisy will eventually be exposed unless that individual makes a complete 360 turnaround

No matter how late in life we wait to do/learn things that it is never too late to do so

We only lie to ourselves when we think that we’re too old or too inadequate to make changes in our life

Common Sense is the greatest sense that man has
