I was in for a big treat earlier this year at the 2013 Autorama.  All three Batmobiles that were put on the map.  The one above created by George Barris-a customized Lincoln Futura-he used five different models, some built on a Galaxie 500 chassis, for each individual purposes. Both he and Adam West put that car on the map in the 60s.  Whilst time fails me to go in detail, may I suggest the you, the reader look up further info on both Google and YouTube?  To some of us that have the DVD with extra features, we have all the info we need on this baby here!  Two more that also put The Dark Knight on the map.

This one from the late 80s to early 90s.  Built with a Chevy 305-V8 engine, Chevy Impala chassis, Ferrari taillights, and Honda Civic headlights, and a retractable dome to enter and exit the vehicle.  The dome had to be resized due to the ears on Michael Keaton’s cowl getting stuck every time the dome closes.  That had to suck, that would piss off any actor playing Batman.

And now, my favorite, the Tumbler (not to be confused with the website, Tumblr).  “Lamboghini in a tank” to say the least.  Built from parts of a Lamborghini, equipped with a GM V8 500 HP engine and two super grip tires from Hoosier and four rear Super Swamper TSL tires.  My most favorite part of this vehicle was when the Batpod (an electric motorcycle that) ejected from the vehicle when the Tumbler exploded due to a blast that put it beyond repair.  I am having a marathon at home commemorating The Dark Knight Trilogy that has put Batman on the map this past decade.  I had a blast!
